Project Challenges
A card is handed over once and then has to survive in a pocket. A link has the opposite problem: it is easy to share and just as easy to ignore.
Everything here is decided by the first screen on a phone.
- One screen to work with – Who, what and how to make contact all have to land before anyone scrolls.
- Saving the contact – The card is only useful if it reaches the recipient's address book, so that has to be the obvious action.
- Kept current – Details change, and the advantage of a link over a card is that the change reaches everyone who already has it.
What we built
We treated saving the contact as the primary action and let the presentation serve it, rather than building a page that happens to list a phone number.
