Project Challenges
Plant care advice is abundant and contradictory, and none of it knows which plants are actually on someone's windowsill. The problem was never a shortage of information; it was keeping track.
An app meant to be opened every week has different constraints from one opened once.
- Habit, not features – A care app is only useful if it is opened before the plant suffers, which makes reminders the product rather than a setting inside it.
- Wide species range – Watering, light and feeding differ per plant, so the data model has to hold exceptions rather than one schedule.
- Low-effort input – Anything that takes more than a moment to log stops being logged, and the collection drifts out of date.
What we built
We designed around the collection first — adding a plant, seeing what it needs today — and let everything else sit behind that. Reminders were built to be dismissed without guilt, because an app that nags gets deleted.

Project Summary
The app ships with a plant collection, per-species care schedules and reminders, on a structure that takes new species without a rebuild.
