Project Challenges
The supply chain runs on relationships and paper. Everyone in it knows their own step well and the ones either side of it barely at all.
A platform with several kinds of user is really several products over one record.
- Several kinds of user – Growers, processors and buyers need different screens over the same underlying records.
- Trust in the data – Trade decisions rest on quantity and quality, so provenance has to be recorded rather than assumed.
- Field conditions – Much of the input happens away from a desk, on phones and patchy connections.

We built around the transaction record every party shares, then gave each role only the view it needs on to it.
